Business Woman Of The Year
My lovely ladies do it time and again, creating salon experiences that win awards. However, now’s the time for me to take to the stage, all by myself. When I heard I was nominated for Business Woman of the Year, I was tickled pink! Now I’m a finalist, I’m over the moon!
A Business Woman Getting Glammed Up
It’s time to pick out a gorgeous outfit for the February finals, conducted by the beautiful Ladies First organisation. They’re an inspiring network for women’s professional development, welcoming all professionals and encouraging them to reach for the stars in the world of work. They also know how to host an event with style! Last year’s awards were held in a breathtaking marquee lit by fairy lights. You could be forgiven for thinking it was a wedding venue, except we were celebrating the love between a business woman and her work.
This year, we’re heading to Metropolis, a contemporary bar and restaurant in the centre of Coventry. It’s the picture of luxury and modernity, with just a touch of the Roaring Twenties! It’s especially appropriate as Fleur Sexton is a co-founder. She’s well-known to Ladies First and is now the CEO of multi-award-winning PET-Xi Training. She co-founded the chain of PET-Xi Restaurants and is a Business Woman of the Year herself! At Metropolis, she’s on a mission to breathe life back into the city of Coventry, creating a haven and a training ground for young people. I applaud her style and it’s only right that the awards be held at her restaurant!
Business Woman Of The Year
I was blown away to be a finalist for not one award, but two! I am truly honoured!
The award describes the Business Woman of the Year as the owner or manager of a company that has had an outstanding performance. Well done, everybody! It also says that she and her company stand out from the crowd, displaying a strong business presence and an innovative approach. Well, as I’ve said before, our hair is our crown, so I’ll definitely think outside the box in order to fulfil its potential!
I’m also a finalist for Business Entrepreneur! According to Ladies First, I’ve achieved personal performance and business breakthroughs, creating an enterprise which shapes the world around me and encourages other women to launch their own ventures. I’m gratified to think that I could have played a part in other women’s lives, giving them the nudge to explore the wonderful world of starting your own business.
I now know the calibre of my fellow finalists! I can’t wait to see which other history-making women will be there, competing in intriguing categories such as Unique Business, Woman of Courage and Empowering Women.
On The Day
My anticipation is mounting! 6th February is circled in my diary as I wait for my outing to Metropolis. I’ll get to meet the judges and shake them warmly by the hand, greet the sponsors, speak to the media and have my photograph taken. There’ll also be a brief interview, where I get to talk about my experience as a business woman and my passion for Emily Jayne’s.
I could talk for hours about Emily Jayne’s, an oasis for hair, beauty and aesthetics. The real prize is spending every day here, listening to my clients say things just like this:
‘I’ve tried many hairdressers over the years but finally found my sanctuary at Emily Jayne’s.’
